Memorial Day weekend was a welcome respite from the avalanche of work we have had since one of the writers went part-time. Things cleared up near the end of last week, but we all still have way too much to do. The pain in my leg has receded to a dull stiffness for the most part, but it seems intent on shuffling back and forth between hips, which makes me think that it's actually the lower back, and probably a result of not enough exercise and too much junk food. Part of that problem was solved on Saturday with the purchase of a stationary bike from Academy. I suppose it's obvious when you think about it, but clearly the first workout that you get from any piece of fitness equipment is assembly. That being said, Saturday was also the day that I figured out how badly out of shape that I am. Well, that's going to be fixed, starting yesterday. Fifteen minutes of level cycling on the basic program. It's not much, but it's more than I've been getting (as my body insisted on telling me several times). Further updates will follow, about every other day, barring time-consuming activities.

Had a family photo session on Friday night. If the cycle of reincarnation, karma, and such is true, people who have trouble waiting come back as baby photographers. It must build an intense amount of patience. It was an hour past Olivia's bedtime, and she was not cooperative. Not fussy, but just distracted and pretty much uninterested in the funny man with the squeaky toy. Good photos seem to have come out of it, though.

Speaking of photos, the workplace has set Photobucket in our filter. I'd appreciate lj-cuts on any and all photos from my friends list folks. I won't hate you forever, but it will keep the massive, annoying graphic about a disallowed website from screwing with my LJ layout. Thanks.

Saw X3 and Over the Hedge this weekend, like a good number of people. Was entertained by both, but found X3 to be clunky, crowded, and not up to par with the prior two. Too many characters, not enough connection between scenes, and their attempts to tell the Dark Phoenix saga were spotty at best. I didn't feel like I paid too much for it, but I can't say it was as good as I had been hoping. "Ghost Rider" looks like it'll be fun, as does "Superman Returns."

Not much more to say. Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] phoenixcoeur and Happy Belated to [livejournal.com profile] macgeezel.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled workday. Tune in next time, when we hear Ebony say, "Well, if I knew it was gonna be that kind of party...."

(Y'all should be able to finish that sentence.)
