Life interrupts when you have important things to say. Or even things that you just think are somewhat profound. I planned on posting last night, but it's been a tiring couple of days.
Monday was the deadline for January Web sites to be ready to go to the clients. Naturally, they're not all done, and they're likely not to get done before next week. Why would this be so, you might ask, when you, Ebony, editor supreme, is hard at work making sure that Verizon's clients get well-written Web sites? Well, it's because the other admin is on vacation in Buffalo, visiting family.
I got there early today. I got there almost an hour early. I didn't proofread a single site until after lunch. I was that busy with other stuff. I hope the folks who make such decisions are watching; if I don't get offered the permanent position, I'm gonna be pissed.
Anywho, the weekend was good. Got the last of the Christmas shopping finished, with minimal expenditure. I was amazed how cheap kids' toys can be, if you're willing to look a little. I wish it were the same with RPG books. Thanks for the suggestions, folks, on the present for the two-year old. I almost went with the plushie Godzilla, but I figured that the cute little stuffed frog (it ribbits) that I found was good enough. I'll corrupt her more next year.
Randy got me a video/CD/DVD stand, which I think is his way of saying, "Dude, I want my shelves back to put the rest of my videos and games out." He also got me a new PS2 controller. It seems that he feels that he needs to get me a birthday present, despite the fact that it was over a month and a half ago. No biggie; I needed a new one. I got a little enthusiastic playing SSX Tricky once upon a time, and one of the top buttons jams on occasion. Now I have a new one.
I'm irritated. It's almost Christmas, and I still haven't heard "Father Christmas" by The Kinks. I think everyone should hear that one during the season. Remember that there are people out there who need more than you do. Speaking of which, they're doing a charity thing on Christmas Day down at the Lakewood Theater. I may go pitch in for the morning. You know, because it's the right thing to do.
It was good to see everyone on Saturday, by the way. Thanks for the gifts. I'm looking forward to being at the Church next week.
A final observation before bed: Toys 'R' Us on the Saturday before Christmas is a frightening place, and should not be looked upon without fortifying yourself beforehand. Try to avoid finding yourself in such a situation.
